design school - the docks, bristol
To propose a scheme for a school of design based on the waterfront at Bristol city docks.
An important part any Design School are the student studio spaces, this is where the work is created.
Three major element contribute to a good studio space:
Collaborative community - Inspiration - Environment
Collaborative community - Students should see what is happening all around the school, find relaxation and social space outside the studio and feel as part of a team.
Environment - Natural light, ventilation, comfortable temperatures, not too noisy
Great Inspiration – access to knowledge and ideas comes from experience and interaction with the outside world, spaces with great views inspire great ideas.
